DIRECT calculation module

The DIRECT calculation module is supported by Microsoft Excel Software.

The DIRECT calculation module is currently being redeveloped by RMIT University, Empauer and the Fight Food Waste CRC.

Each time you use or cause access to the dynamic industry resource efficiency calculation tool (DIRECT) and service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use, as amended from time to time by RMIT University with or without notice to you.

The DIRECT service may only be used as a guide to internal decision-making by you or by your organisation concerning supply chain efficiency or other subject matter.

The results obtained from use of the DIRECT service must not be used for marketing purposes or otherwise communicated or made available to any other person. Without limitation, you must not use any information as a component of or as a basis for any public document such as a book, directory, bibliography, database, virtual presentation or compilation without the prior written consent of RMIT University.

RMIT University reserves the right to modify or discontinue provision of this website and the DIRECT service, and to remove the data you provide, either temporarily or permanently, at any time, without notice and without any liability towards you.

RMIT University will not be held responsible or liable for timeliness, removal of information, failure to store information, inaccuracy of information, or improper delivery of information.

In order to use this website and the DIRECT service, you are required to register for a user account on this website. By registering for a user account, you explicitly agree to these Terms of Use, including any amendments made to them.

By using this website and the DIRECT service, you agree that:
You will not provide any content or conduct yourself in any way that may be unlawful, illegal, designed to interfere with or disrupt the operation of this website or the DIRECT service, or which may infect the website or DIRECT service with a virus or other harmful code;

You will not misrepresent the origin of any content provided by you;

You will not claim any association with RMIT University;

You will not collect or harvest any information about other users;

You will not provide, and you will not use this website and the DIRECT service to provide, any content or service in any commercial manner, or in any manner that would involve junk mail, spam or any other form of unauthorised advertising or commerce;

You will not breach copyright, patents, trade secrets, designs or other intellectual property rights of other persons, including the reverse engineering and commercial development, in any digital form, of the DIRECT excel spread sheet which remains the sole intellectual property of RMIT University.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RMIT University and its employees and agents from any claim or demand that may be filed by any third party, arising out of your conduct or connection with this website or the DIRECT service in violation of these Terms of Use.

You expressly acknowledge that:
(i) Data sets used in DIRECT may not be the most up to and may contain gaps consistent with generic data;

(ii) DIRECT is intended for quick decision-making by you and your organisation in the design stage, and that supply chain features or other subject matter must be verified independently according to appropriate standards.

To the extent permitted by law, RMIT University makes no warranty, either implied or express, that any part of the website or DIRECT service will be uninterrupted, error-free, virus-free, timely, secure, accurate, reliable, or of any quality, nor is it warranted either implicitly or expressly that any content is safe in any manner for download. You understand and agree that neither RMIT University nor any participant in the DIRECT service provides professional advice of any kind and that any advice or any other information obtained via this website or DIRECT service is to be used solely at your own risk.

RMIT University reserves all of the rights, including but not limited to any and all copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, and any other proprietary right it has in respect of this website, the DIRECT service, the DIRECT spread sheet, its content, and goods and services that may be provided.
